About the event
Lots of us, including me, have trouble just sitting still, being quiet, and controlling our thoughts and when we can’t, we feel guilty or weak and neither of those feelings will help us get closer to God/The Great Spirit/The Great Mystery or simply just achieve a state of relaxation. What most people don’t know is that there are several forms of meditation. One of which, and the one I use, is drawing or creating circular designs called Mandalas. We are creative creatures and nothing wards off the feelings of anxiety or stress like creativity. In this class, you’ll learn the basics of mandala drawing and using found objects and elements in nature to create beautiful and inspiring designs. Nature mandalas are meant to be impermanent so we’ll briefly explore the concept of detachment, letting go of the outcome. AND WE’LL HAVE FUN!
